A 3 MVA solid-state transformer that fits in the footprint of a parking space and regulates voltage in software.
The MPE-3000 replaces a conventional pad-mount transformer and the switchgear around it. Silicon carbide power stages convert medium voltage to high frequency, step it down through a compact magnetic core, and convert it back. That lets the unit regulate voltage, correct power factor, and accept DC input from batteries or solar without extra equipment.
Units ship as a single skid. Two pilot units are running at utility substations in Texas.
